Two 4 'Tember
I remember growing up in the 80's and having to sit by my little boombox, blank tape ready, finger twitching impatiently above the record button, waiting for a favorite song to come on just so I could record it for my next, great, mixtape. And then when that didn't happen, I just wanted ANY good song to come on because with the exception of the free-for-all, oh-my-god-I-can't-believe-I-found-this-song-! that Napster was, this was the very best way to get the music you wanted without forking over $15 at Tower records for the one song on an otherwise crappy tape.
So what's my point, right? Well sometimes those radio stations would play Two-For-Tuesday, where they'd spin two songs by the same artist, back to back. Yes! or ... no-oooo!! If you liked the band, great, you have ten more minutes of music to rock out to. But if they played, say Nelson for example, it might seem like 7 minutes of eternity, whatever that thing is. It's also why a 60 minute mixtape might take you three weeks to finish. I liked Nelson though, so my tapes were easy. :)
Anyway ... Two-for-Tuesday lives! But it's not just for Tuesdays anymore ... Positions, everyone!
